Armed and Dangerous

A couple of things have shifted since the last time we connected. The Covenant women's group completed a couple of weeks ago. I am leaving this experience with new relationships, fresh perspective, a healed heart, and more capacity. To hear Dr. Tasha say, "Capacity is the evidence of healing," was sobering, encouraging, and it felt like a launching pad for what's next.

If this is your first visit here, I took a God directed pause earlier this year. I received recognition through Voyage Dallas and I saw that as an opportunity to build more momentum and go. After I shared it, God said stop. It was a "my thoughts are not your thoughts, and my ways are not your ways" moment.

If I'm honest I was confused, frustrated, annoyed, and looking at God like why. Six months later, and what He decided to not tell me in a moment, He taught me over time.

He didn't change His mind about me, but He did uncover some work that needed to be done so I can sustain this next season. I moved in His timing and in obedience. I launched Mom Dreams, and I released the book when He told me to. I hosted the events, connected with women, and encouraged and supported the launch of new ideas and businesses. I answered the phone when women called, I prayed, I fasted, I obeyed, but all in a survival mindset.

I did all those things through Christ that strengthened me in one of the hardest seasons of my life and then God said stop. He didn't tell me to stop because I did something wrong or because I needed a new strategy. He told me to stop because He loved me enough to provide me what He has provided others through me.

I needed safe spaces too. I needed healing too. I needed to identify the areas where I wasn't fully trusting my Father too. He wanted to heal me, create capacity, and give me the opportunity to have freedom while operating in my purpose. Yes, He said start while I was surviving, but my all knowing God knew I could not sustain purpose in that condition.

I am grateful for His infinite wisdom and love for me.

I am enjoying this joy and contentment, and honestly when He started talking about more and what's next, it was an unwelcomed interruption. Discovering this freedom and pace with God has been a rewarding part of my journey, and I am not ready to share that space. Sound familiar? When He said stop I didn’t want to, now He is talking about go, and I don't want to. I want to sit here a little longer.

I don't feel settled in it, and maybe that's the point. He wanted me to pitch a tent to get something I needed along the way. I have grown to love the comforts of this tent, and now He wants me to travel and build a house. The house.

As my therapist so eloquently shared with me as I voiced my concerns, receiving more doesn't mean weight, it means He has created capacity within you. Your association with more is weight, stress, lack of boundaries, but if you really look at what He has done in you, more just means you have space to hold and carry what He has given you. You have grown into a woman that can hold and steward the vision.

That was the purpose of stopping. The timing of laying the foundation was right, the timing of stopping was right, and the timing to resume and build is right.

We have been talking together wondering about God's timing and I received a notification this week. Me officially resuming won't be another Mom Dreams event. It will be a Beauitful U 365 conference in October.

I met Shannon at the end of 2025, and it was during a time when I was following God blindly. He wasn't providing details, it was a day by day instructional walk. When I meet new people I do not immediately share who I am or what I have done because I appreciate authentic interactions without the pressure. I want people to get to know me for me, and I want to get to know them.

It wasn't long before she asked me why I did not tell her I had written a book. My honest response was, it had not come up and nothing we had talked about in the past warranted bringing it up. She started talking to me about a conference she was hosting, and she thought the theme of the book aligned. She let me know as she finalized planning she would reach out with details.

Fast forward over six months, and here we are. With all the things that I have done over the years, this will be a first. I have never been invited to speak at a conference, and seeing author under my name on the flyer seems very foreign. Even when I hosted events I didn’t put that title.

I am confident that the timing is right and that this is a God initiated thing. I am confident the He will give me the right words for the people in the room. I am even confident that a theme "Armed and Dangerous" is aligned with how God's people need to be postured in this season.

That confidence will always include the human sprinkle of all the things; nervousness, apprehension, fear (not the spirit but the feeling), and even wondering what's next after that. He hasn't given me instructions beyond seek for Mom Dreams strategy and prepare for this event. Even preparation looks different in this season so I'm just looking at Him, look at me.

I'm thankful for the healing and capacity. I am grateful for the opportunity to share my gifts. Mom Dreams is about to be an active living thing again. I haven't reached the emotion of excited yet, but I am staying in pace and rhythm with Him to see what He has planned. Until we meet again, I will be seeking and preparing. I know what it means to seek, but preparing in a capacity available, healed state, that has yet to be experienced by me.

If you will be local on October 17, I would love to see your face. You can register using the link below. We can be surprised together by what God decides to do in that room. 💗
